AimPoint University-Perfecting Slope Feel
7m 58s
In this video, Mark and Gareth dive deep into perfecting your slope feel, focusing on how to match the feeling in your body with the actual break of the putt. The key is associating the physical sensation of the slope with the behavior of the ball. For example, when you feel a 2% slope, the ball should break in a way that matches that prediction. If it does, you’ve successfully synced your body’s feel with the ball’s movement, allowing you to confidently move on to the next putt. However, if the ball’s behavior doesn’t align with your feeling, this discrepancy creates a prediction error. This error helps your brain improve and fine-tune the synchronization between what you feel and how the ball breaks, rapidly sharpening your ability to read slopes more accurately and consistently.
Uphill/downhill is a speed consideration, whereas side tilt is what causes how much break there is.
