Drill: 30ft / 50ft Lag Putting
9m 23s
This drill is designed to develop consistent distance control and lag putting precision from long range. Players often lose strokes by three-putting from 30 to 50 feet due to poor pace rather than poor direction. This drill helps players calibrate their speed across a variety of slopes and green conditions—essential preparation for tournament play, especially on large, undulating greens. The objective is not to make putts, but to avoid costly three-putts. Over time, players will sharpen their ability to judge speed and slope from range, making them more proficient from 30, 40, or even 60 feet—particularly when greens are fast or undulating.
