Loving the videos guys, I’m on my 4th watch through and have just got a few things I’d love to clear up in my own head!

Mid range putts - these are referenced as 7-20ft and should be read at end of 1/3 and end of 2/3? Or is it anywhere in the 1/3 and 2/3 zones where the slope is greatest?

Lag putt reads start at 30ft but mid range is referred to as 7-20ft. In the 20-30ft zone would that be read as a mid range or a lag putt?

Finally I noticed in one video with a 5 read. Mark read it with his index and middle finger of left hand and first 3 of right hand. I’m presuming this was to avoid the smaller pinky read. Is this the recommended technique for anything above a 3 on mid range and beyond putts?

Again love the videos!! Hope my questions aren’t too annoying haha!

- We are looking for the biggest number in the middle third section, so we recommend you check the beginning of that section and the end, unless it is visually evident where the biggest number is, then you can go straight to that area and confirm the number. Yes, it is anywhere in the 1/3 and 2/3 zones where the slope is greatest.

Great stuff..tell me best strategy to 2 putt from 15 feet on 10 stimp and 3 percent..and 3 oclock. When I try to make it and miss it goes way by..what is best strategy to 2 putt

what is strategy for a 10 foot putt at 3 or 9 clock on a steep green. If it misses it goes to far down the hill--is there a safer way to leave it closer rather than try to make it ??

Hi Scott,

The directional read is when we combine the slope we feel with the direction our body is facing to confirm we have found the correct area the ball will be travelling. There is a video on it in our Advanced series, have you watched it?

Piecing together different parts of videos.. can you confirm the following:
1. for short putts < 6 feet, use the pinky read and use the width on the end of the fingers
2. for medium length putts 10-20 feet, use the standard read and width of fingers at middle knuckle
3. for long putts (> 20 feet), use the standard read and base of the fingers (because they are widest)

Great Videos. Just to clarify….. Pinky read is index finger not small “pinky finger” read.😊😊

The pinky read is inside 3-6ft and uses the small finger (pinky) for 1%, the pinky and ring finger for 2% and the pinky, ring and middle finger for 3%.
