On longer putts the key thing to remember is that you are always looking for the biggest slope in the middle third, often times you can identify that visually.
Have you seen the Directional Read in our Advanced series? That gives you a very accurate way to ascertain the correct places to take a read.

Do you ever recommend using green contour maps in conjunction with AimPoint process? This could help with directional reads.
I love the Aimpoint approach and getting the opportunity to geek out with the latest videos that you present here. I’m sure I could find some video posts that you have already, but I would love to see more specifics regarding 6 feet and in. It would be great to see a deep dive dealing with that subject although maybe it seems too basic many here. I know it would help me though!
Learned aimpoint by the videos in GameForge and these courses have made all my green reading really good. Feel like I’m getting the right read almost all the time.
The hardest part for me is the subtle breaks, as my course has very flat greens so feel I miss a lot of putts where the break is under 1 degree. Think I have seen something about it but can’t find it again. Would be great with a dedicated video on those putts.
I would be interested if you would cover uphill/sidehill and downhill/sidehill putts. Specifically, it is difficult to separate the uphill/downhill component from the sidehill component when trying to feel the slope. I know directional read helps with this, but doesn’t completely address it. Are there any tricks to try to better feel/isolate the sidehill component of the slope?
Hey guys! Loving the content so far. Already learning loads. Was just on the putting green working on my directional read and speed :) seeing results straight away. Also love the video Jamie put up and dialing in subtle breaks.
Looking forward to this content! Was wondering if you could comment on how best to estimate slope if a playing partners ball prohobits feeling the middle third of the slope. I will try to stand to the side (not a directional read, but hopefully similar. Is this the next best alternative? Also, when using the standard read, does it matter if one has their palm facing the ball or themself? I find it more comfortable to have the palm facing me. thanks!
